Give Hope-Give Life-Give Blood
LifeStream and the Town of Apple Valley invite all healthy residents to give the gift of life Thursday, September 2, 12 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Town of Apple Valley Recreation Center, 14955 Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley. Get free iTunes, restaurant gift cards, gas cards and more just for donating blood! For every lifesaving donation, participants receive points as part of the "Gift of Life" Donor Loyalty Program that may be redeemed for items through LifeStream's online store. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.LStream.org or call LifeStream at 1.800.879.4484. Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. (Those 15 and 16 years of age must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Parent consent forms are available at any donor center or community blood drive. All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process. Donating blood takes about an hour, yet gives someone a lifetime!

First Golden Corral in High Desert
The High Desert Gateway, a 349,048-square-foot community shopping center situated at the southwest corner of Main Street and the I-15 freeway in the City of Hesperia, will soon include the High Desert’s first Golden Corral Restaurant, scheduled to break ground in April 2010. Hesperia’s new Golden Corral, the second in Southern California, is just the fifth in the state. It will be a free-standing, 11,080 square-foot family-style restaurant seating 388 guests and employing approximately 135 people. Golden Corral is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based chain offering a diverse array of buffet and grill selections, featuring beef, chicken, pork and fish, pasta, pizza, fresh vegetables, salad bar and a selection of carved meats, as well as a bakery and dessert café.
